2022 will see the launch of our property maintenance division, which focuses on providing periodic and planned maintenance for commercial businesses across the UK. Minimising dependency on costly emergency call-outs is key to maintaining good business relations with customers for now and in the future.

Property Maintenance

Why we launched our property maintenance division

The majority of our emergency plumbing and electrical call-outs we have encountered over the last 20 years could have been prevented by the implementation of a proactive maintenance program.

Emergency call-outs can financially affect a business and can have an impact on its reputation. To help solve this, we are launching an extensive property maintenance service that will mitigate risks for our existing and future clients.

As our founder Graham explains "I'm excited for 2022 for many reasons, not least of all because it will see us further expand our operations around our customers' needs. From being primarily an emergency solutions provider we're extending our services to include pre-planned maintenance programmes helping, where possible, to minimise a client's need for high-cost, reactive, emergency works."

We cover every aspect of property maintenance and testing including:

What is property maintenance, and who do we do it for?

Property maintenance is the process of preserving a building by periodically auditing the building’s condition with a view to repairing any issues before they cause secondary damage to the building. Property maintenance can include auditing and repairing any aspect of the building from its fabric to internal fixtures, so that could be the roof, walls, ceilings, windows, doors, locks, plumbing or electrical systems to name just a few. When these issues are not corrected promptly, emergency remediation is often necessary which can result in more significant financial cost and a damaged reputation.

We work with hundreds of commercial businesses, including some of the UK's most visited hotels, pubs and chain restaurants. Providing regular property maintenance has helped our clients reduce their reliance on emergency call-outs, saving them money, safeguarding their brand reputation and avoiding inconvenient downtime to their business operations.

What are the benefits of regular property maintenance?

Proactive property maintenance has many benefits, here’s a few examples.

  • Improving safety
Routine maintenance can improve the safety of your property with services such as PAT testing preventing electrical accidents or pipe inspections preventing small or large scale leaks. These regular checks are particularly important in commercial settings, where staff, colleagues, the general public or tenants can come into contact with potentially harmful hazards.
  • Reducing equipment breakdown
Periodic testing and property maintenance can reduce failures across lighting and electrical systems and prevent power losses while unclogging slow drains can prevent total blockage. Taking action can lower the need for emergency intervention and enables reducing your business' lost revenue through avoidable downtime.
  • Mitigating H&S negligence & minimising liabilities
Not all faults can be prevented, but regular property maintenance reduces the risk of their occurrence, thus preventing unnecessary liabilities and claims.
  • Increased property value
Whether you own buy-to-let properties or own commercial business premises, planned maintenance can help your property retain its market value.
  • Prevent breaches in health & safety policies
If you're an estate agent or private landlord, you'll understand the importance of regular electrical and plumbing checks and recognise the risks in breaching health & safety obligations. By planning preventative maintenance, you can avert major electrical and plumbing incidents.
