Pigeon Control

We at Complete Environmental Services are experienced in pigeon pest control, particularly when it comes to cleaning pigeon guano, also known as droppings. Pigeon mess is a real problem in the UK and as people are becoming more knowledgeable about problems that pigeon dropping mess can instigate, there is a real need for expert removal of pigeon guano.

If left untreated, pigeon mess causes a real health risk to people due to the bacteria and organisms. Dried pigeon droppings cause dust, which is very harmful to inhale as it contains faeces, urine and sometimes harmful bacteria that can be easily passed on. Pigeon Guano also causes machinery, building materials and paint to erode, meaning the problem can be widespread and serious.

Thankfully there are several methods of pigeon control. This includes bird proofing, bird netting, bird spikes and a large variety of electrical and wire deterrent systems.

There are over 60 other diseases that birds and their droppings can carry.

Such as Histoplasmosis, a respiratory disease that may be fatal, Candidiasis, which is a yeast or fungus infection spread by pigeons and Cryptococcosis is caused by yeast found in the intestinal tract of pigeons and starlings and may later affect the central nervous system.

Salmonellosis often occurs as food poisoning and can be traced to pigeons, starlings and seagulls. The disease is found in bird droppings and can be sucked through ventilators and air conditioners which can then lead to the contamination of food and cooking surfaces in restaurants, homes and food processing plants. As well as directly carrying disease, nuisance birds are also frequently associated with over 50 kinds of ectoparasites, which can work their way throughout structures to infest and bite humans.
